STYLE COLLAGE SUNDAY

Another week has flown by and style collage sunday is here again. This week I'm sharing some of the coolest footwear for the next few months. Sometimes I hate using the term seasonal and trends as some of my picks aren't but one thing I do know there pretty damn cool. I real do feel it's expressing pretty much what you want regarding footwear for autumn there's so many styles out there to explore right now. Whether it's sneakers, boots, shoes in modern or vintage remakes, be experimental and expressive with texture and always look for cool little detailings which are key factors remember footwear great style starts from your feet upwards.

CONVERSE SS/12 PRESS DAY

Everyone has there own personal Converse style I personally think there's something is kind of special with Converse a few words that I would associate with the brand are iconic, innovators, classic. Converse always moves forward with the times a definite important brand in the world of sports footwear and modern day style. I can't live without my Chucks beaten up as they are has an even more special charm that I love.

From the classic Chuck Taylors to the modern day styles at some point in your life you would of discovered Converse. It was really interesting to be invited to see the press day with some cool twists on classics a great presentation that was informative and well thought out and located in a great space it was really a feast for the eyes.

These  classic revived Chuck Taylors caught my attention check out the bold colourways. Converse have named these as Chuck Taylor  All star Re-form as part of the RE-MIX collection with great changes the modern fabric with a nylon upper, still very clean in looks I really liked the idea of them having a EVA outsole.

Super lightweight I think these would be perfect for the modern who loves the orginal Chucks but are looking for that modern twist and also these could be great holiday footwear for Summer 2012. Available nationwide and internationally at specialty retailers, department stores, and at www.converse.com beginning February 2012 priced between £47 - £52.

A firm favourite for James Dean, the Jack Purcells still look modern after all this time as they say when great design is done well it's timeless. I have seen a few versions of  these but the latest ones (above) are pretty on point!

I don't know why I still don't own a pair accept, but that will change as these will be my new purchase next Spring. The one thing that I love about about all the classic style converse has to be the ways you can incorporate them into your daily wardrobe teamed with the staple chino, a narrow jean, shorts to even a formal trouser for a cool casual evening look dress them up or down the add that cool modern signature to that not trying to hard but finished look you can't really go wrong. These Jack Purcells are priced between £40 - £60.

After looking at the coolest Chuck Taylor All Star Re-Form I turned into another room and face to face with the Star Player Remix(above)
how cool are these I think every modern man should own pair any of the Converse I have mentioned priced at £55.

The Auckland Re-Mix sneaker

For the new collection Converse really looked into their achive and changed up elements of their retro sneakers the Auckland Racer Re-Mix are truly bold and current now even after thirty plus years. A great press day as I didn't know what to expect. Seriously my Favourites where... well, all the above mentioned. Next spring I will be adding another pair after seeing what went down at the press day what do you think about Converse and what's your favourite style? who would you like to see Converse collaborate with in future?

STYLE COLLAGE SUNDAY

accessories play the part and finishing of a look. At ASOS I never seem to have a problem seeing something I want and not necessarily need!

Now I love a scarf, wooly hat and gloves especially now it's freezing and this small selection from ASOS are pretty cool right?  Ok the scarf is something Dr Who would probably wear but remember his style was eclectic let's say vintage cool he knows hows to rock tweed!

What I loved about this selection are the colour and comfort and that's what's needed for this season. I actually love the college style scarf and that mustard beenie hat.

ASOS Block Stripe Scarf £20

ASOS Flecked Hood Fingerless Gloves £12

ASOS  Cable Knit Turn Up Beanie £10

Here's a simple idea of adding a splash of colour and life to your outerwear I teamed a crew neck sweater under a vintage leather biker jacket and the block stripe scarf it's a simple as that!

Next week S.S.A selection of the perfect footwear for this season.

SIMPLE LAYERING

Simple styling can always add a slight difference to a finished look. Sometimes it simple isn't necessary to go out and buy new pieces. Start looking through your wardrobe get experimenting.

The idea above is basically layering a shirt under a jacket under a coat. This could work with knitwear or even a simple T-shirt, shirt jacket and coat these smaller details draws the eye and makes you stand out amongst the crowd have a fun play. I really would love to see some style pictures from you guys! Email stylestandsalone@hotmail.co.uk let's share your ideas with other readers and viewers.

STYLE COLLAGE SUNDAY

Following on from last weeks look at our favourite picks of jumpers, this week S.S.A looks into winter coats and jackets. Whether it's a coat or jacket there aren't many wrongs. Above are some of what's available out there right now. So let's roll, The autumn months are dull adding a splash of colour with the Nudie and Vintage Levis options are always fun!

Detailing are still key factors in this seasons coats, whether your going for a vintage style coat from ASOS or a really modern alternative from AQUA, with the contrast quilted sleeves which is super cool. Focus on sleek, rather than fussy lines. Most of the time those details make the garment! For example a shawl collar always seems flattering and stylish this bargin Pea Coat from ASOS is perfect, and practical for layering that knit or shirt combo underneath.

A brand I came across called Volklore are producing some great garments my eyes paid attention to this Shackleton coat made from Selvedge cotton denim, This coat is named after the great antarctic explorers, Ernest Shackleton I like the style it's different and unique.

The look, comfort and warmth are key factors in finding that winter perfect outerwear piece. If you see a jacket or coat that looks great and says YES! But not warm enough, try layering by adding a slimmer lighter jacket underneath or a interesting style cardigan for interest sometimes it's not all about a huge thick scarf.

Next Sunday winter accessories.
