I'm glad Hedi Slimane is coming back to designing, he's a super talent in the realms of fashion and photography a pioneer of blogging (he was the first to have a visual picture diary online).
Slimane has been appointed as the new Creative Director for Yves Saint Laurent. Flashing back, I saw a video the other day of Hedi Slimane earlier works for YSL Rive Gauche Homme back in the late 90's early 2000s, even then he had a signature vision and his cuts were amazing! When Slimane became chief menswear designer at Dior, his collections personally connected with me interms of how the modern man should look stylish, young, energetic menswear, everyone wanted to wear skinny jeans after he launched this idea.
Every collection was well executed and so slick with that added edgy energy and connected music, visuals like no other menswear designer! I'm really excited to see what Hedi Silmane creates let's hope it's interesting for YSL. He's been away far too long, hopefully those years away have inspired him, to enter back on to center of the fashion stage with a bang!
